Hi, My name is Susie and I am an in home child care provider. I
have been a licensed provider for 10 years. I'm First Aid/CPR
certified along with many certifications in courses such as creative
learning, health issues, SIDS and emergency preparedness and  
am in the process of furthering my education.

I am 40 and the mother of a wonderful 16 year old daughter and
have lived in Maryland City, Laurel for 19 years.

I am truly blessed to be able to do the work that I do and I do not
take the responsibility lightly. I feel as a childcare provider it is my
job not only to love and care for the children but to also teach them
in all areas to prepare them not only for school but for the daily
challenges in life.

At Happy House we work with the FunShine Express curriculum
which challenges the children's small motor skills with creative
works of art along with identifying the basics
(ABC's..123's...shapes...ect..). We also have a multitude of work
sheets we use to work on our reading and writing skills.

We are very blessed here to have a large back yard and lots of
play equipment! We try to go outside for play time at least twice a
day (weather permitting).

My discipline policy is a very simple set of principles:


A.   Setting realistic limits and consistently enforcing them.

B.   Re-enforcing positive behavior.

C.   Providing children choices based on their interests, age, and or
ability.

D.   Intervening before a situation gets out of hand.

E.    Modeling appropriate behavior.
